March 08, 2016

Foxconn is investing in building a technology-focused industrial park in Guangxi, China, which will begin construction this year and create approximately 7,000 jobs when it becomes operational by 2020, reported Reuters on March 4. The park is expected to create 100 billion RMB (US$15.3 billion; US$1=6.52 RMB) in shipment value per year, including 60 billion RMB (US$9.2 billion) from smart manufacturing products, such as IP (Internet Protocol) phones, video system devices, smart TVs, interactive whiteboards and switches. Aside from the Guangxi industrial park, Foxconn also set a R&D test and verification center in Nanning Technology Park, which began operation in October, 2013.
